Ingredients

  • 2 oz Tequila Blanco or Silver tequila recommended
  • 2 oz Apple Cider good quality, unfiltered
  • 1 oz Lime Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup optional, adjust to taste

  • Lime wedge for garnish
  • Apple slice for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Margarita or Rocks Glass
  • Shallow Plate

Method

  1. Step 1: Prepare the glass. Spread cinnamon sugar on a shallow plate. Moisten the rim of your margarita or rocks glass with a lime wedge, then dip it into the cinnamon sugar, twisting to coat. Fill the rimmed glass with fresh ice.
  2. Step 2: In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, apple cider, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup (if using). Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with ice.
  3. Step 3: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Step 4: Strain the cocktail into the prepared, ice-filled glass.
  5. Step 5: Garnish with a fresh lime wedge and a thin apple slice.
  6. Step 6: Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Substitutions & Additions: Feel free to swap Blanco tequila for Reposado or Mezcal, or even vodka. Experiment with spiced or sparkling apple cider. Replace simple syrup with maple syrup, agave, or honey. For the rim, try sugar with a pinch of nutmeg. Add a cinnamon stick or star anise for extra aroma, or muddle cranberries in the shaker for a tart, festive twist. Tips for Success: Always use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. Taste and adjust sweetness before serving. Use chilled ingredients to minimize dilution. For a batch, combine all liquid ingredients (except ice) in a pitcher and chill, then serve over ice. Storage: The cocktail base (without ice) can be stored in an airtight container or pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Stir well and pour over fresh ice when ready to serve.
