Method
- Step 1: Start by washing the jalapeños thoroughly. Make sure to wear gloves to protect your hands! Slice the jalapeños into rings, removing the stems. If you prefer less heat, you can remove the seeds too.
- Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir well to ensure the sugar dissolves completely.
- Step 3: Add the sliced jalapeños to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the jalapeños are tender and the brine has thickened slightly.
- Step 4: Carefully transfer the jalapeños and the brine into clean, sterilized jars. Ensure that the jalapeños are fully submerged in the liquid.
- Step 5: Allow the jars to cool to room temperature before sealing them with lids. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
Notes
Make sure to wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid irritation. For a spicier kick, leave some of the seeds in the jalapeños.
