- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray, or line it with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until creamy.
- Step 3: Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture and mix well until combined.
- Step 4: Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently to incorporate.
- Step 5: Fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Step 6: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top evenly.
- Step 7: Bake 50 to 60 minutes, checking at 50 minutes by inserting a toothpick into the center. It should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Step 8: Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Swap butter for oil for a dairy-free version. Add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor. Store wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
