  • 1 cup baking soda This is the secret ingredient that makes the magic happen!
  • 1 cup vinegar The bubbly partner to baking soda.

  • glitter (optional) For an extra sparkle that kids will love.
  • small bowls for mixing You’ll need these to prepare your colorful concoctions.
  • funnel (optional) This makes pouring a bit easier, especially for little hands.

Equipment

  • Clear plastic bottles with lids
  • Small bowls for mixing
  • Funnel

Method

  1. Step 1: Pour 1 tablespoon of baking soda into each clear plastic bottle. I like to use a funnel here for less mess!
  2. Step 2: In separate small bowls, mix 1/4 cup of vinegar with a few drops of different food coloring for each color you want to use. Get creative and mix colors for even more fun!
  3. Step 3: Optionally, add a small amount of glitter to each bowl for extra sparkle. Who doesn’t love a little shimmer?
  4. Step 4: Using a funnel, carefully pour the colored vinegar into the bottles containing baking soda. This is where the magic begins!
  5. Step 5: Watch as the mixture bubbles and creates a magical reaction. It’s a show that’s sure to impress everyone!
  6. Step 6: For continued enjoyment, repeat the process by adding more baking soda and colored vinegar as desired. You can have hours of fun with just a few ingredients!

Notes

While these bottles are best when used right away, you can store the baking soda in a sealed container and the vinegar separately for future fun. Just remember, once you mix them, the reaction is short-lived!
