Method
- Step 1: Combine chicken thighs and marinade ingredients (olive oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lime juice, maple syrup, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt) in a medium mixing bowl. Coat each piece well.
- Step 2: Massage the marinade into the chicken thighs for about 3 minutes to evenly distribute flavors.
- Step 3: Arrange chicken thighs skin side up in the air fryer basket or rack, leaving space between pieces for air circulation. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Step 4: Air fry at 400°F for 10 minutes skin side up. Check the skin; if browned to liking, flip and cook another 10 minutes. If more crisping needed, cook an additional 5 minutes before flipping and finishing.
- Step 5: Use a meat thermometer to check internal temperature. Cook until at least 165°F, or up to 185°F for extra tenderness.
- Step 6: Remove chicken from air fryer, let rest for 5 minutes, then serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
Marinate chicken overnight for deeper flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness. Pair with fresh salads, roasted veggies, or pasta salad for a complete meal.
