- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
- Step 3: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the hamburger patties on both sides for about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Step 4: In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom.
- Step 5: Place the browned hamburger patties on top of the potatoes.
- Step 6: In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Stir until smooth.
- Step 7: Pour the soup mixture over the hamburger patties and potatoes, ensuring everything is well covered.
- Step 8: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. After 1 hour, remove the foil and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top. Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Step 9: Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
