Course: Breakfast, Snack

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas ripe but firm
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt vanilla or plain
  • 1/2 cup granola
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or a mix
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup optional
Optional toppings
  • chopped nuts
  • shredded coconut
  • mini chocolate chips
  • chia seeds

Equipment

  • Cutting Board
  • Shallow Bowl or Plate
  • Spoon

Method

  1. Step 1: Peel bananas and slice each lengthwise down the middle. Arrange the four halves in a shallow bowl or on a plate with cut sides facing upwards, like two boats.
  2. Step 2: Spoon the Greek yogurt into the center space between the banana halves, piling it up generously.
  3. Step 3: Sprinkle the granola all over the yogurt, then scatter the fresh berries on top of the granola and yogurt.
  4. Step 4: Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired. Add any optional toppings like nuts, coconut, chocolate chips, or chia seeds.
  5. Step 5: Serve and enjoy your healthy Breakfast Banana Split immediately.

Notes

Choose ripe but firm bananas that hold their shape when sliced. For an even faster assembly, wash and slice berries or measure granola the night before. This dish is best enjoyed immediately as bananas can soften and granola can get soggy if left sitting. You can slightly warm honey or maple syrup for a more classic drizzle feel. Store individual components separately in the fridge; assembled splits don't store well.
