Ingredients

For the Creamy Kielbasa Tortellini
  • 1 lb kielbasa sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 9 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini package
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Equipment

  • Large skillet

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In the same skillet, add the diced onion and red bell pepper. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Step 3: Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine, ensuring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  4. Step 4: Bring the mixture to a simmer and add the cheese tortellini. Cook according to the package instructions, usually about 3-5 minutes, until the tortellini are tender.
  5. Step 5: Stir in the frozen peas and cooked kielbasa. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  6. Step 6: Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm and enjoy your creamy kielbasa tortellini skillet!
