Prep Time 15 minutes
Total Time 4 hours
Servings: 4 servings
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

For the Tiramisu Cups
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 2 tbsp coffee liqueur optional
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 pieces ladyfinger cookies
For Garnishing
  • unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
  • grated chocolate or chocolate shavings optional

Equipment

  • Shallow Dish
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • Plastic wrap

Method

  1. Step 1: In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set this aside; let those flavors mingle.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. This step adds a lovely lightness to your dessert!
  3. Step 3: In another bowl, gently fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream mixture until well combined. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream; we want to keep it nice and fluffy.
  4. Step 4: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture. Make sure they are soaked but not soggy! Place a layer of these delightful cookies at the bottom of each cup.
  5. Step 5: Add a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top of the ladyfingers. Use a spatula to smooth it out.
  6. Step 6: Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture, finishing with a layer of mascarpone on top. You want it to look as beautiful as it tastes!
  7. Step 7: Cover the cups with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the best results. The longer, the better!
  8. Step 8: Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with grated chocolate or chocolate shavings if desired. It’s all about that presentation!

Notes

Store any leftovers in the refrigerator, covered. They will keep well for up to 3 days. Just note that the ladyfingers will continue to soften, so they are best enjoyed fresh!
