Method
- First, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger in a medium-sized bowl. Make sure everything is well combined – this is your delicious sauce base!
- Next, place your bite-sized steak pieces into your slow cooker.
- Pour the honey garlic mixture over the steak, making sure each piece is coated. Give it a good stir to ensure even distribution.
- Now, cook on low for 4-6 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, or until the steak is incredibly tender and easily shreds with a fork. The longer it cooks, the more tender it will be.
- If you want a thicker sauce, whisk the cornstarch with a couple of tablespoons of water until smooth to create a slurry. Stir this into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. This will help thicken up the delicious honey garlic sauce.
- Finally, garnish generously with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to get creative! Experiment with other cuts like chuck roast or even flank steak. Just adjust the cooking time accordingly. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat. A splash of rice vinegar or a teaspoon of hoisin sauce adds another layer of flavor. Toss in some chopped bell peppers or onions during the last hour of cooking for added texture and nutrients. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They're even better the next day! You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
