For the Kahlúa and Cream Cocktail
  • 1 oz Kahlúa coffee liqueur about 30 ml
  • 1.5 oz cold cream heavy cream recommended, or half-and-half/dairy-free substitute
  • ice cubes fresh, clear ice cubes

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Fill a rocks glass completely with fresh ice cubes to chill and create a layered effect.
  2. Step 2: Slowly pour 1 oz of Kahlúa over the ice, allowing it to settle among the cubes.
  3. Step 3: Gently pour 1 1/2 oz of cold cream over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to create a smooth, creamy layer on top.
  4. Step 4: Serve as is for a beautiful layered look or stir lightly before drinking for a combined flavor.

Notes

Use chilled ingredients and pour cream slowly for best layering. Add a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, or vanilla for extra flavor. Blend with ice for a frozen treat or add espresso for a caffeine kick. Store Kahlúa in a cool dark place and cream in the fridge; prepare fresh cocktails for best taste.
