Total Time 4 hours
Servings: 8 servings
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Pie
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix 5.1 oz
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container whipped topping 8 oz
  • 3 ripe bananas sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers 10 oz
Optional Topping
  • crushed vanilla wafers

Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Continue whisking for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  2. Step 2: Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined with the pudding. Be careful not to deflate the whipped topping; you want to keep it light and airy!
  3. Step 3: In a 9-inch pie dish, start by placing a layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom. Then, add a layer of sliced bananas over the wafers.
  4. Step 4: Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas. Repeat the layering process: add another layer of vanilla wafers, followed by sliced bananas, and then the remaining pudding mixture.
  5. Step 5: Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.
  6. Step 6: Once chilled, slice and serve the pie. You can garnish with additional whipped topping and crushed vanilla wafers if desired.

Notes

This pie can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Just make sure to cover it tightly with plastic wrap to keep it fresh.
