Ingredients

For the Air Fryer Steak
  • 2 pieces steaks 1-inch thick ribeye, sirloin, or striploin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for rubbing the steaks
  • 1 tbsp salted butter melted, for rubbing the steaks
  • steak seasoning to taste; can include salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp steak butter or garlic herb butter optional, for topping finished steak

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Tongs or Spatula

Method

  1. Step 1: Remove steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Step 2: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Step 3: Rub the steaks with olive oil and melted butter. Season both sides generously with steak seasoning.
  4. Step 4: Place the steaks in the air fryer basket and cook for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. For medium-rare, cook around 8-9 minutes; for medium, 10-11 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Remove the steaks from the air fryer and transfer to a plate. Let rest for at least 5 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
  6. Step 6: If desired, top with steak butter or garlic herb butter before serving.

Notes

Pat steaks dry before oiling for a better crust. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months.
