- Step 1: Prepare Glass: Take your lemon wedge and gently rub it around the very top edge of your serving glass, moist enough for the sugar to stick. Dip the rim of the glass into your rainbow sanding sugar, giving it a little twist to coat evenly.
- Step 2: Add Syrup: Fill your beautifully prepared glass with ice. Pour the raspberry syrup directly into the bottom of the glass to create the first colorful layer.
- Step 3: Layer Liquids: For distinct layers, pour the next liquids slowly over the back of a spoon, holding it just above the ice. Gently pour the orange juice first, followed by the pineapple juice, then the blue curaçao. Take your time for defined stripes.
- Step 4: Add Carbonation: Gently top your layered drink with sparkling water or club soda. Pour it slowly to avoid disturbing the layers.
- Step 5: Garnish: Add your rainbow fruit skewer (strawberry, orange slice, pineapple, blueberry). Sprinkle a pinch of edible glitter for sparkle, and pop in a colorful paper straw. Serve immediately.
Notes
Substitutions & Additions: For a kid-friendly, non-alcoholic version, swap blue curaçao for blue raspberry syrup or more pineapple juice. Try grenadine, strawberry, or peach syrup for different flavors. For juices, consider white grape, cranberry, or passion fruit. To make it boozy (adults only!), add 1-2 oz of vodka or white rum after the blue curaçao layer. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs, lime slices, gummy candies, or mini paper umbrellas.
Tips for Success: Chill all liquid ingredients before starting to keep the drink refreshing. Pour slowly over the back of a spoon for gorgeous layers. If sanding sugar isn't sticking, ensure the lemon wedge isn't too juicy, or try simple syrup on the rim. This drink is best assembled right before serving to maintain fizz and layers, but ingredients can be pre-chilled and measured, and fruit pre-skewered. Adjust sweetness to your preference.
How to Store: This Berry Blue Fizz is best enjoyed immediately. Sparkling water will lose its fizz and layers will blend over time. Store leftover syrups and juices in their original containers in the refrigerator. Prepare garnishes fresh for each drink.
