- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Step 2: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and brown sugar together until well combined. Pour this mixture into the bottom of the prepared cake pan.
- Step 3: Arrange the halved strawberries on top of the brown sugar mixture in a decorative pattern.
- Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 5: In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Step 6: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Step 7: Pour the cake batter over the strawberries in the pan, spreading it evenly.
- Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Step 9: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a serving plate, so the strawberries are on top.
