Method
- Step 1: In a large bowl, combine Cherry Dr. Pepper, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, minced garlic, ground ginger, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended. Add the chicken breasts to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- Step 2: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
- Step 3: Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Place the chicken on the hot grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on one side until grill marks appear.
- Step 4: Flip the chicken and brush with some of the reserved marinade (do not use the marinade that the chicken was in). Grill for another 6-7 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Step 5: Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze it for up to 3 months.
